Hi daniel – Take some raw potatoes and place them into the blender, squeeze the juice and apply the juice under your eyes for 10 minutes. You can also place thin slices of potato on your eyes every night before you retire. Alternatively getting 8-10 hours sleep every night with no light at all is the best way to get rid of them.

Soak two cotton balls in ice water. Squeeze out the excess water and place them directly onto the eye bags. Leave the cotton balls for several minutes. Repeat if desired.
Pour one tsp. of salt into a pint of steaming hot water. Soak two cotton balls into the mixture and squeeze out the excess water. Place the cotton balls over the eyes for several minutes. This treatment will help reduce the irritation caused by the puffy bags as well as reduce the size of the bags.
Place two metal teaspoons into the refrigerator. Pull them out each time your eyes become puffy and place the tops of the teaspoons directly onto the bags for two to three minutes, or until they lose their chill.
Pour a few cups of cold water into a large bowl. Place four to five ice cubes into the water. Close your eyes and splash your face with the cold water for two minutes. The ice water will help reduce the puffiness.

Some people have really sensitive skin and you are one of them. If you want to use tea bag you must use herbal tea bags because it doesn’t have any side effect and allergy.

If you are a big fan of tea like me then don’t waste your tea bags. You can use it to cure eye bags. Take a tea bag and refrigerate it until it get chilled you can use chamomile or peppermint tea but I used green tea. Put them in your eyes one by one for 15 to 20 minutes. You can also apply frizzed cucumber slices on your eyes twice a day to get good results.

For dry skin I suggest you eat balanced diet and more fruits and vegetables, keep self hydrated by drinking lots of water. Aveeno products are the best for dry skin and exzema. They are made with colloidal oatmeal which is very soothing for the skin. The oatmeal bath and lotions are the best. After you shower, try putting on baby oil or a heavy lotion. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, take vitamins, and drink plenty of water. A whole host of cosmetic problems can be attributed to vitamin deficiencies. Dark circles and puffiness are often attributed to lack of vitamin K or inadequate antioxidants. Also, a deficiency in B12 (usually anemia-related) can result in dark circles. Apply cool used tea bags or an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth to your eyes daily. Put a spoon in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Take it out and cover the circles with it. Hold it there until the spoon is warm again.

    Hi Hira,

I’m 17, and I have dark eye bags I am not proud of and they really make me feel uncomfortable. I was reading your post and the comments to see if any of the others were similar to mine, and I wanted to know which is the best to get rid of these ugly bags fast! I was wondering if you wet the tea bags and then you put them in the refrigerator also of if you just leave them as they are?
And cucumber is more for puffiness right? What can I do about the darkness under my eyes?

    Please help! Thanks!

Take cotton eye pads and soak them in rose water for a few minutes. Put these soaked eye pads on your closed eye lids for about fifteen minutes. Rose water will have a soothing effect on the eyes and it will also rejuvenate the skin around the eyes. This particular remedy can completely remove the dark circles if followed regularly twice daily for a few weeks. Take a little almond oil and apply it over the dark circles before going to bed and gently massage it. Leave it overnight and wash it off with cold water the next morning. Put the apple slices under your eyes and leave it for about half an hour. Finally you can wash the skin area with cold water and apply some cream. Another option is to make a paste of boiled green apple and then apply it under your eyes and after half an hour rinse with lukewarm water. Take few fresh mint leaves and crush them gently. Now apply the crushed mint leaves around your eyes and leave it for five to ten minutes. Then gently wipe it off with a clean and cold cloth. It is one of the effective home remedies for under eye dark circles. Another option is to add mint leaves paste to tomato juice and then apply this paste on the dark circles. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and then rinse the area properly with cold water. Take turmeric powder and mix it with pineapple juice to make a thick paste. Apply this paste to the affected area and allow it to stay for about ten minutes before wiping it away with a soft damp cloth. Besides removing the dark circles it will also make the skin around your eyes smoother and softer than before. This remedy should be followed daily until you get positive results. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily.

  8. Karan says

    Hi Hira,

I’m 25. I work @ Accenture, Bangalore and I do fear the possible dark circles in the near future, for I sit in front of the system for a long hours. Can’t say exactly since when I have developed eye bags, for I was using spects for the last 13 years until 15th Feb,2013 (when I switched to contact lens). Since May, my eye bags have become easily noticeable and more often than not, people who meet me ask – “Abhi soke utha hain kya ?”

I don’t understand how exactly could I get off from this eye bag thing. I did consult some dermatologists and applied couple of creams as well, including “Wunder eye”, but to no effect. Recently, I have started hitting the gym and my face sweats out a lot there (much more than my body). No idea how that thing can be related to eye bags. Moreover, the scars/signs of spects on my nose haven’t gone off yet.

In a nutshell, it would be a great help if you could guide me the fastest and the best way to get off the signs of spects on my nose and those puffy under-eye bags. Also, I would appreciate if you could let me know the preventive measure so as to avoid the dark circles which might happen because of sitting in front of the computer for long hours.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Regards,
    Karan

sorry for the late reply. I rarely drink water but I have been drinking more in the past few weeks and my eyes are looking sooo so so much better. Let me tell you, water will do the trick. Your body is probably really dehydrated which causes you to feel drained, causing the bags. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet. A vitamin deficiency could be the cause of your dark bags. If this is the case, a healthy diet and daily multivitamin should get rid of dark eye bags permanently. Reduce the amount of sodium in your diet to reduce water retention. Water retention can make dark circles appear under your eyes. Do not add salt to any of your foods. Sleep well to get rid of dark eye bags permanently. Increase sleep quality by going to bed at the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning. Avoid cigarette smoke and alcohol. Reduce allergens in your home. The dark eye bags could be the result of untreated allergies. Use only natural, hypoallergenic cleaners and beauty products to reduce allergies. Stay away from chemicals and fragrances. Bare Escentuals makes natural makeup and Seventh Generation makes natural cleaners. try to use used teabags put them in the freezer for half an hour and then apply them over your eyes for fifteen minutes each nights.

Because of the time needed to scrub with cloths, rinse, wax and dry, the process

Fewer things to think about, schedule, make time for, and work
