If you have ever noticed, the skin of our feet is always rough and drier than the rest of the body. To your surprise, there are no oil glands in the feet; in fact, there are hundreds of sweat glands. You must have heard feet plays an important role in controlling the blood circulation too. It is very important for you to pay special attention to your feet otherwise they would get extremely dry and ultimately cracks will appear. They are not good as far as beauty is concerned because they are visible in public and create a bad impression. Moreover, cracked feet many times cause troubles in walking too. Many times cracks and dryness occur because of certain diseases like athlete’s foot and diabetes.
Causes of cry feet:
There can be various reasons depending from person to person, but the most common ones are;
- Lack of moisture of feet skin
- Use of non moisturizer soaps
- Changing weather
- Medical reason – diseases like thyroid and diabetes
- Excessive outdoor activities (especially in sun)
Whatever the case may be, you do not have to worry about that, as you can treat dry cracked feet naturally at home without spending much. The best remedies include:
Use of warm water:
Make it your habit that before going to bed each night you should dip your feet in lukewarm soapy water. With the help of pumice stone, you can get rid of the dead cells easily. You can even apply some scrub on the feet before soaking in the water if you are not allergic. Once done, simply apply a moisturizing cream and go to bed. Continue doing it, and you would within a week retain the smooth feet skin.
Use of lemon:
You must have an idea that lemon has miraculous properties – it can help you in getting rid of dead cells through its acidic property. What you can do is add fresh lemon juice in lukewarm water and soak your feet for 15 minutes. Gently rub the feet with a soft brush.
You can even apply lemon and papaya mixture of the cracked feet for 15 minutes and then wash it with warm water. The results would be mind blowing.
To your surprise, banana does not only taste good but it also has some of the best healing properties. You can apply a thick banana paste of the dry and cracked feet – leave it for 20 minutes and gently wash it away with lukewarm water. The results would be simply wow!
Take some rose water, add glycerin to it and mix it in a fine manner. Do not forget to do this twice or thrice a week – you will come across wonderful results in the form of soft and shinny feet.
You can even use glycerin mixed in rosewater, lemon and raw salt. Together this mixture works best in used as a solution in lukewarm water. Once the feet are soaked for 20 minutes, you can simply get rid of dry skin by rubbing with pumice stone.
With the help of money you can make a perfect homemade foot scrub – you would need:
- Rice flour
- Lemon juice
- Apple cider
Take 4 tablespoons of rice flour and add 1 teaspoon of the rest of the ingredients. Mix them well until you are able to get a thick paste. If you find it too hard or thick, feel free to add a few drops of olive oil. Wash your feet properly and apply the mixture – leave it for a few minutes and then gently rub your feet with it. You will certainly love the feel and results if you continue to follow the process until the feet is healed completely.
