I never sleep without a good nightly beauty routine lasting 15 minutes, which includes teeth brushing, removing my makeup, massaging my face – especially under the eyes and also the neck, washing my feet and applying moisturizer on my arms and legs. But even after all that, its essential that I give myself pampering treatments, at least once every week or have them done professionally! After all, tender loving care is a must to keep you beautiful.
So here I am, with seven of my favourite indespensible weekly beauty regimens as advice for you. However, bear in mind, these are necessary on a weekly basis, and need daily maintenance on your part; for your skin is like a flower – you tend to it and it blossoms beautifully, but if you start ignoring it, it tends to wilt and die.
Beauty treatment #1
Microdermabrasion. This is done three ways; either surgically at a skin clinic, microdermabrasion facial at a salon or at home with your usual face wash mixed with a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate, a readily available ingredient in the kitchen.
Microdermabrasion basically is intense exfoliation and instantly removes the outer dead skin layer to reveal beautiful smooth new baby skin cells; that gives an instant glow, an even skin tone and aids in the removal of black heads and white spots too.
I would save the fortune that it could cost at the skin clinic and would either go for the facial, or the at home microdermabrasion. Only once a week, and no more!
Beauty treatment #2
Lip scrub. To maintain a lovely set of lips that are pink in colour and soft to touch, it is a must to properly exfoliate your lips once a week. Or take the risk of your lipstick peeling in public! For this, you can either buy a lip scrub (I suggest Clarin’s Lip and Contour Gentle Exfoliator) or you can make a lip scrub at home and get the same results either way!
The at-home lip scrub requires mixing a tablespoon of honey, equal amount sugar and a few drops of lemon juice. This gives an immediate result of softer, pinker luscious lips-I love it!
Beauty treatment #3
Hair hot oil massage. Well, who doesn’t love a good head massage? Massaging with a bearable enough hot oil on the scalp ensures good blood flow as well as perks up the roots providing nourishment to the hair follicles.
Every salon provides hot oil treatment. However, you may do it yourself too, using a hair oil of your choice and warming it up either in the microwave or on the stove.
Done regularly, you will never see a bad hair day!

Beauty treatment #4
Softening body soak. The polluted environment along with damage from sun causes the skin on your body to go dry and discoloured despite the brand or amount of moisturisers and creams used. But this beauty soak once a week thoroughly moisturizes the skin, leaving it soft and supple and glowing. Simply fill the tub with warm water and add in 2 cups of fresh milk, 2 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons rose water, 3 tablespoons argan oil and a couple of roses or rose petals for added fragrance. A good soak of 15-20 minutes should warrant satin soft skin.
Beauty treatment #5
Pedicure. Try several salons and choose the best for the pedicure as not all salons guarantee baby soft heels. If weekly pedicure at the salon takes much out of your pocket, try giving yourself a mini-pedicure at home. A mini pedicure would consist of soaking your feet in luke warm green tea for 10 minutes followed by a foot scrub to remove dead skin and ending in a foot file and lotion to soften and smoothen the feet. But if done more than once weekly, the constant scrubbing can strip the feet of its potential to regenerate new skin.

Beauty treatment #6
Removing blackheads. Using Egyptian fig and warming it up in your hands makes for a good blackhead remover when applied and pulled off much in the same way as wax. And apply toner soon after to close the pores. Again, done only once weekly is beneficial.
Beauty treatment #7
Massage. Oh what a feeling it is to have all that tension built up over the week to leave your body through a thorough body massage. This is my favourite! Nothing beats a good massage done at a good spa, with soft music, dim lights and a good fragrant essential oil. I usually always end up sleeping relaxed!
