People are such spend-thrifts when it comes to appearance; by beauty, clothes and accessories. And those who can not afford or even those who can but would rather save get intimidated and lose hope. Whoever said looking pretty needs to be expensive? Whoever it was, they need a good beating by all the girls of the world!
I am not one to spend fortunes to look glamorous. It’s just not in me. I am more of an easy-on-money sort of person. And where people around me run to the dermatologist at the first sign of a skin breakout or a discoloration due to a sun tan or sunburn and the onset of dryness, I on the other hand, save loads of money and treat all these problems with simple ingredients found in my kitchen. End result? The same! Actually, not really, mine are better in outcome and are achieved sooner than in-clinic treatments.
So here are my 6 top skin savers that don’t cost a thing! Read on!
Treatment #1-For uneven tone or skin discoloration:
Take a small pinch of good saffron strands and dissolve them in about 5 to 7 drops of olive oil. Warm it up by rubbing it in between palms, and massage it over the skin of face and neck. Done regularly, even skin tone can be noticed over a span of few days.
Treatment #2-For the outbreak of pimple:
Dabbing a small amount of toothpaste, preferably one that contains mint, only on the pimple, can shrink the swelling and redness of the pimple overnight and by day two, it’ll be gone as if it never existed.!
Treatment #3-For sun tans and sun burns:
Rubbing a slice of tomato over the entire face can help lighten the tan and soothe irritated sun burnt skin. Let the tomato juice dry on the skin and rinse off. If done repeatedly over a couple of hours, this can prove to be very effective in removing the tan or at least lightening it.
Treatment #4-For sun tan and sun burn:
Freshly squeeze the juice of a lemon in a bowl and add to it a very tiny pinch of turmeric powder so that the mix remains a little liquidy. Soak cotton wool in the mix and apply all over the face, let dry, rinse and repeat once again or twice, if need be.
Treatment #5-For the onset of dryness in winter or even in summers for those who have naturally dry skin:
Mix together organic honey with cold, whole milk. Apply over dry skin on face or even on arms with fingers and massage in upward and outward circular motions.
With regular use, you will notice peeling dry patches of skin no more!
Treatment #6-For those who need to get rid of blackheads in 5 minutes for a party in the night:
Mix a tablespoon and a half of whole milk with a tablespoon of unflavoured gelatin and heat this mixture in the microwave for 10 seconds on high. Mix it well until creamy and smooth. Using a paintbrush or an old but clean makeup brush, apply a thin coat over the blackheads on nose or chin.
Let it air dry, and once it is, peel off from the ends towards the center. Ta-Da! Blackheads gone! But do use toner after this to close the pores to prevent blackheads to reform.
