Do you often suffer from dry skin; whereas you actually have oily skin? Or does your skin get irritated rather quickly and starts showing signs of damage by sun or other factors? Has your husband started calling u ‘oldie’ instead of the usual hot because of those fine lines and wrinkles every time you smile? Are you simply tired of having people point out your wrinkles and aged skin?
Well, no more! These five treatments/steps, if incorporated into your life, can help rejuvenate your skin and prevent further damage from sun, stress and aging. When skin rejuvenation is just down the hall, in the kitchen, why drive blocks to a fancy, expensive salon for the same!
Let me begin with explaining what goes wrong with our skin, and the causes. Free radicals produced in the body due to stress and poor diet, or excessive intake of alcohol can damage the skin and cause disease and aging. Dryness and lack of moisturizing can also lead to early onset of wrinkles. Skin exposure to the sun’s rays, namely ultraviolet ray A and ultraviolet ray B, can severely damage the skin and bring about effects of aging prematurely. And, in fact, lots of women love sun bathing in order to get that lovely tan, but what they overlook is, that they’re damaging their skin in the longtime to temporarily look pretty.
So if certain steps are taken to counteract these aforementioned effects, your skin will remain beautiful for longer than you expect. Mentioned here are those steps:
#1 Rose and Cream Cleanser
For those whose skin is mature and/or dry, use of this cleanser on alternate days can restore its vitality.
Take 1 tablespoon of heavy cream and add to it 2 drops of rose essential oil. Mix the ingredients and use as a cleanser, gently massaging into your face and neck, going upward and outward in circular motions. End by removing it with a warm, damp, face cloth and follow with moisturizer.
#2 Green Tea Toner
This toner, used regularly, can fight premature skin aging and soothe irritated skin due to the antioxidants present in green tea, with the added benefit of brightening of the face owing to the presence of lemon and mint.
Boil about 200 to 250ml of mineral water, add 3 to 4 teaspoons of green tea leaves, 1 teaspoon of mint leaves and let it steep for a while. Add 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Strain the infusion and let it cool down to room temperature. After a cleanse, you can either spray it onto face or soak a cotton pad and gently tone the face and neck.
#3 Banana and Cream Anti-Aging Mask
As the name indicates, this mask contains extremely moisturizing elements and several vitamins that makes it an ideal anti-aging treatment for skin that has suffered damage from sun, stress and environment.
Take a small banana and mash it using a fork, add to it 2 tablespoon of heavy cream, 1 tablespoon of organic honey, 1 tablespoon oat flour and enough mineral water to make a paste. Apply this mask on a clean face and let be for half hour. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry with a tissue paper.
#4 Coconut Oil Massage
Women with skin that acts crazy and dries up in winter only, should use this massage daily before going to bed and within days of incorporating this into your night routine, you will notice softer, smoother and rejuvenated skin!
Warm 5 drops of pure coconut oil in your hands and massage into your face making big and small circular motions using your fingers. As the oil makes a protective barrier to lock the moisture in, it is recommended to sleep without wiping it off.
#5 Food and Water
Skin needs to be cared for not only from the outside, but more so from the inside. Bring fruits and vegetables into your daily diet and try drinking at least 10 glasses of water on a daily basis. Fruits and vegetables bring a glow to the face and keep it moisturized. Water keeps the skin hydrated from the inside and helps prevent wrinkles.
You owe it to your skin to become more responsible and start caring for it. Follow these steps and enjoy seeing beautiful glowing skin in the mirror!
