Grate potato and cucumber and place them onto your eyes. cut a lemon in the middle and then apply this lemon piece with juice all over your face specially around eyes but take care it doesn’t go into your eyes. leave it till it dries. In the beginning it will burn so much but have patience and bear the sweet pain.
Try this daily in the morning. Diet plays an important role in eliminating under eye circles over a period of time. Thus, include more vitamin C (strengthens blood vessel walls), E, K, folic acid and iron in your diet.

Hira, nice post. I serve as a “guru” on a lifestyle website, and I was asked by one of the members how to treat dark circles. I was surprised to learn that it could be allergies or even just nasal congestion (like if you have a cold), a lack of vitamin K or B12, in addition to other things like lack of sleep, hydration etc. So doing all the things one should do to stay healthy in general are supposed to help dark circles. Eating bananas and dark leafy veggies can help too!

This is in response to Allison Cohen’s post. I am sure some people can get rid of dark circles by improving their diet or sleep patterns, but, unfortunately, not all. I have dark circles under my eyes. I have had them all my life and there is absolutely nothing that I can do help. The only thing I can is to apply lots of concealer. My mom also has very dark circles under her eyes. Sadly, it’s hereditary in my case…

    Hi Hira,
Great blog, great beauty tips, I have started following some of your amazing tips ( longer eye lash tip, dark lips cure) and I am super thrilled to find your blog. I do have one HUGE issue that I need help for. Dark Circles: Everything you mentioned in your blog about dark circles I have already tried but no success. This is hereditary. Yesterday I end up going to a derm to do laser treatment to get rid of them as heard on TV. But the derm told me its not for me as I am young. That was my last hope. What should I do? Is there anything else you can recommend? any other tip, any eye exercise, any surgery?? I feel like the ugliest person in this world :(

Take cotton eye pads and soak them in rose water for a few minutes. Put these soaked eye pads on your closed eye lids for about fifteen minutes. Rose water will have a soothing effect on the eyes and it will also rejuvenate the skin around the eyes. This particular remedy can completely remove the dark circles if followed regularly twice daily for a few weeks. Take a little almond oil and apply it over the dark circles before going to bed and gently massage it. Leave it overnight and wash it off with cold water the next morning. Put the apple slices under your eyes and leave it for about half an hour. Finally you can wash the skin area with cold water and apply some cream. Another option is to make a paste of boiled green apple and then apply it under your eyes and after half an hour rinse with lukewarm water. Take few fresh mint leaves and crush them gently. Now apply the crushed mint leaves around your eyes and leave it for five to ten minutes. Then gently wipe it off with a clean and cold cloth. It is one of the effective home remedies for under eye dark circles. Another option is to add mint leaves paste to tomato juice and then apply this paste on the dark circles. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and then rinse the area properly with cold water. Take turmeric powder and mix it with pineapple juice to make a thick paste. Apply this paste to the affected area and allow it to stay for about ten minutes before wiping it away with a soft damp cloth. Besides removing the dark circles it will also make the skin around your eyes smoother and softer than before. This remedy should be followed daily until you get positive results. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily.

hi, hira, this is a very interesting blog :)
looks like mariam’s case is the same with mine. I think dark circle is hereditary in my family too. after trying this and that, I finally stopped when I found out that my 3 yo son had shown an early sign of dark circle. one day, I pulled my skin under the eye a lil’ bit and I could see how thin this part was while the other part was thicker. it then gave me an idea of getting a shortcut by doing some surgery. but after reading mariam’s story, I think surgery can’t be a solution for my dark circle *sigh*
    what do you think, hira?
